Woman after cosmetic dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is very common amongst the A-listers of the world. After all, when you are in front of a camera and blown up on a big theater screen all the time, you want to look your best. However, there is still a misconception out there that cosmetic dentistry is something that is pretty much just for the stars. The truth is that anyone can benefit from cosmetic dental treatments. Continue reading to learn about all of the different issues that it can solve.

Discoloration

One of the most common concerns that patients come to the office with is discoloration. No one wants to have a stained, yellow smile. While it is natural for discoloration to happen over time, activities like smoking cigarettes, drinking red wine, and indulging in coffee and teeth can speed up this process. The good news is that there are several cosmetic treatments out there that can help, including professional teeth whitening, cosmetic bonding, and porcelain veneers.

Misalignment

You may not have been one of the lucky people who was born with a perfectly aligned smile, but this doesn’t mean that you will never have it. Invisalign is a treatment involving a series of clear plastic aligners that will gradually shift your teeth to perfection. You will have a straighter smile in no time! If your misalignment is very minor, you may be able to fix this with porcelain veneers instead.

Gaps

If you have small gaps between your teeth that you aren’t fond of, you have a variety of different options to fix them. For very small gaps, your dentist can use a tooth-colored composite resin in order to close them. Porcelain veneers can also cover them up. If you have larger gaps, Invisalign clear aligners could be the solution that you are looking for.

Misshapen/Uneven Teeth

As much as you would like them to be, not all teeth are created equally. Cosmetic dentistry can help to make them appear as if they are. If your teeth aren’t quite the same length or you have some that are misshapen, your dentist may be able to correct this with porcelain veneers, dental bonding, or dental crowns.

Chipped or Broken Teeth

Whether you bit down on something that was harder than you expected, or you experienced a dental injury while playing contact sports, cosmetic dentistry can help. If the damage is more severe, you could need a crown, bridge, or dental implant. However, if you only have minor chips and breaks, dental bonding or porcelain veneers could be sufficient enough to solve the problem.

Just because you aren’t a rich celebrity doesn’t mean that you can’t improve your appearance with cosmetic dentistry. Ask your dentist about your options so you can work towards the smile of your dreams!
